Boar Shed

This is our Boar Shed.

When Wakelyns was a pig farm (in the 1970s) the Board Shed was where the boar lived. The sows would be be brought in one by one from the barn next door.

The piglets then grew in the building which is now the bakery.

For a long time after that the Board Shed stored cars and other farm vehicles.

We replaced the asbestos roof, put in a new floor (made of timber grown and prepared just over the Waveney in Norfolk), insulated floor (it was just concrete before), clad and insulated the walls inside and out, added doors. The glass panels were upcycled from Amanda’s office in London, when it was refurbing.

The Boar Shed is available as a space for an enterprise.

Come inside. No muddy boots please.
