Booking from February 2026
As well as our regular community events (Agroforestry Open Weekend, Dal Festival and Apple Day), we have some special one-off events early in year, and our 2026 format of monthly “Wakelyns Activity Days”.
For each of those Wakelyns Activity Weekends:
- Nicola and Lindsay from Silva Kitchen and Bakery will be hosting their Saturday morning ‘Brunch Drop-in‘ – call in to buy delicious bread and other treats and join us for coffee and a snack.
- During Saurday, we will be offering a variety of expert guided walks, courses and special events (all with a lovely lunch from Silva) including:
- Tree Walks from Paul Jackson our longstanding expert arborist,
- Bird/Nature Walks from Harry Read of Wakelyns Nature,
- Willow weaving courses from Emma and Adam of Willow Phoenix
- Natural dyeing/weaving events from Kitty Wilson-Brown of Wakelyns Textiles
- new for 2026, Wild Living – immerse yourself in learning practical skills for living in woodland environments with Edge of the Wild’s Martyn Lyne (see more below).
- On Saturday evening join us for a Wakelyns Music Supper, a delicious meal from Silva, the Wakelyns Real Ale Bar, and live music curated by SonicWave. They’ve been organising nights at The Cut in Halesworth, showcasing new music blending folk and world with a pinch of jazz and electronic. Behind the initiative are local artists @sonicwaveney @addictivetv.
- And obviously, if you want to stay over, our farmhouse and ley alley pods will be available to book.
As for the exciting new offering from Martyn Lyne – Wild Living courses!:
” Suffolk basedfieldcrafttraining provider ‘Edge of Wild’ are pleased to offer sessions in among our agroforestry for participants to learn about and then practice practical skills for living in woodland environments. These will include safe use and maintenance of traditional bladed hand tools (such as the Bow Saw and Froe), shelter building, open fire setting & cooking and making items for use in the field out of natural materials sustainably sourced from the forest. Due to the nature of activities, children attending must be eight years or older and accompanied by an adult.”
