In these alleys in Willow Field we are growing different versions of the YQ Population Wheat developed by Wakelyns, the ORC and the John Innes Centre over 20 years ago.
These two alleys are the original Wakelyns YQ – so this is YQ that has never left Wakelyns, having been grown here each year. The adjacent alleys have YQ that has been growing on other farms but is now back here as part of our fun ‘YQ comes home’ experiment.
