Wakelyns is a working farm, not a rewilding project. But one of the joys of regenerative farming, and agroforestry in particular, is that is offers lots of scope for rewilding between and around the crops.
Each tree line is, in effect, a local strip of rewilding because, apart from pruning the trees (and picking their fruit if they have fruit) we don’t do anything with the undergrowth.
We are also now allowing a new area of rewilding between tree lines 17 and 18 supplemented by some saplings which we relocated from elsewhere at Wakelyns with the help of the team from Meer Bomen Nu.
