Following the success of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust pond restoration at Wakelyns in 2021, SWT dug two new ponds in March 2023 (to provide yet more habitat for great crested newts and, in conjunction with the RSPB’s turtle dove conservation project, more habitat for our small but growing population of these rare and generally declining birds).
That required an application for planning permission:
