Biochar Making Course – Saturday 14th March
We’re delighted to announce a Biochar Making Course with the wonderful Peni Ediker, taking place on Saturday 14th March, 10:30am–4:30pm here at Wakelyns

Peni runs a thriving market garden and orchard from her One Planet Development smallholding in Carmarthenshire, where she and her partner are self-sufficient in fruit and vegetables. She is also a commercial grower for Wales Seed Hub and The Real Seed Catalogue, supporting the preservation of resilient, open-pollinated seed varieties for local growers.
With a deep understanding of soil microbiology, Peni specialises in regenerative growing methods using biochar, inoculated composts, and biofertilisers, which she has successfully trialled from garden scale through to larger farm systems. She is a passionate and experienced educator, teaching courses in permaculture, sustainable horticulture, biofertiliser production, and biochar.
The course will cover:
- Biochar production from small garden to farm scale
- How to inoculate biochar effectively
- Making a range of biological inoculants
